Obituary of Edward Vincent Williams

ROCHESTER, NY – August 11, 2024 – US Air Force Veteran Edward Vincent Williams entered life in Brooklyn, NY, on August 18th, 1950. Edward was the oldest of two siblings born to the late Edward Lambert and the late Pearl (Watson) Williams. Edward was often addressed as Eddie, “Will,” Daddy, Ed, Brother Ed, or Uncle Ed by family and close friends. While living in Syracuse, NY, commuting to work. Edward met the love of his life, Sheila Williams, on the phone at Kodak while placing an order for his clients in Rochester, NY. The two then dated for a short time and were married on February 28th, 1987, in Rochester, NY. Edward enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, eating breakfast with his daughter Chloe, having movie nights with his son Eddie, and Friday date nights with his wife Sheila. Edward proudly served his country in the early 1970s in the United States Air Force. Following an honorable discharge from the United States Air Force, Edward began a 16-year career at Kodak and, shortly after, was employed for ten years with Pep Boys. Afterward, working 15 1/2 years for Avis Budget car rental agency in Buffalo, NY, and then in the Rochester, NY, area. Edward was a certified mechanic with his ASE certifications. Edward completed his bachelor’s degree in 2009, receiving a degree in Business Organizational Management. Edward loved his music, including gospel music, James Brown, Tower of Power, Motown, and all things jazz. Edward was always admired for his strong faith in Jesus Christ and his positive, upbeat personality with whomever he interacted with. Edward was a faithful servant on the Finance Committee and Mountain Movers at New Life Fellowship and was also known admirably by the church family as Chloe’s dad. Edward dedicated his life to ensuring his wife and children were well cared for and always witnessing God's glory. Edward transitioned to his mansion in heaven on Sunday, August 11th, 2024, in Rochester, NY. Edward was preceded in death by; his father, Edward L. Williams, mother, Pearl Watson; grandmother, Gertrude Moore, and aunt, Elizabeth Taylor. Edward leaves behind a strong family heritage: his wife, Sheila Williams; daughter, Chloe Williams, and son, Edward “Eddie” L. Williams. He is cherished by; his only younger sibling, Karen Williams-Bellot (Elliott Bellott, brother-in-law), his sister-in-law, Cheryl Williams and her family, and his sister-in-law Linda Smith and her family; his cousin, Kenneth Taylor and his family; his brother in Christ, Lee Taylor and his family; brothers from another mother, Bill Hughes and family and Tom DiZio and family. He is loved by several other family members, dear friends in Brooklyn, NY; Detroit, MI; Minneapolis, MN; Niagara Falls/Buffalo, NY; California; Rochester, NY; and the entire New Life Fellowship family. Friends may call Saturday, August 24 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at New Life Fellowship, 330 Wellington Avenue, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will immediately follow with Pastor Bernard McNeill, officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
