Obituary of Jaddie Newby Marsh Jr.

ROCHESTER, NY – June 28, 2024 Jaddie Newby Marsh Jr. was born to Jaddie Sr. and Bernice (Dillard) Marsh. He was the 8th of 9 children. Jaddie was a lot of things, but what stood out the most was his love of others. No matter what he had, he would so freely give it. He had the warmest heart and the best of intentions for everybody. Jaddie was a natural athlete in his prime. Anybody who encountered him, knew he could spank them up or down the court. You were not a kid in this family if he didn’t show you how to dribble, shoot some baskets, and you definitely had to learn how to spin the ball on your finger. (Classic Jaddie) It didn’t stop on the court. He could beat you in checkers just as bad. He would even take some of his men off the and still beat you! He also was a pool shark. Mr 8 ball king. Jaddie loved his life. Those were his own words. He enjoyed family. All the kids clinged to him. His siblings all shared a special bond with him. In addition to his blood family, he had his loving street family. He could easily be anywhere in Rochester conversing with all types of people. His laugh and loving nature was contagious. That walk was his true signature. That strut could be spotted miles away. All of that will be truly missed. Jaddie departed this life June 28, 2024. Waiting for him in Heaven are; his father, Jaddie Marsh Sr.; mother, Bernice Dillard-Rowe; grandparents, Will and Leeola Dillard; siblings, Isaac Dillard and Doris Clark. Left with his beautiful memories are; his siblings, Will (Joanne) Dillard, Katherine Baker-Harmon, Leeola (Willie) Buntley, Jacqueline (Clide) Ellis, Cora Marsh, Mary (Luther) Flowers. Also a host of nieces, nephews, great and great great nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends. Friends may call Monday, July 8 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 Noon at The Latimer Chapel, 983 South Plymouth Avenue, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will immediately follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
