ROCHESTER, NY – April 24, 2024
Clarence Nathan was born on July 21, 1931 in Thomaston, Alabama to Charlie and Creola Nathan, he was the 5th of 7 siblings.
Some of his hobbies included cooking big meals for his family, playing cards with his daughters and friends. He also enjoyed singing and humming good old hymns.
Clarence was employed at Eastman Kodak Company as a mason. He was a hard working husband and father! He definitely wasn’t a stranger to the Lord and his word! He served as a deacon of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church for many years. His favorite hymn “I Love the Lord” was definitely one he lived by! He truly loved his pastor (Rev. Smith) and his Emmanuel Church family.
Clarence transitioned his earthly life on April 24, 2024. He is predeceased by; his parents, Charlie and Creola Nathan; his wife ,the late great Maltie Nathan; their children, Beatrice, Olivia and Clarence Jr.; his siblings, Willie, Roosevelt, Albert and Louise.
He lives to cherish his memory; his four children, Valire, Peggy (Boobie), Thomas and Timothy; two honorary daughters, Helen Williams and Betty Newsom; one sister, Coleene; a host of grands, great grands, great great grands, nieces, nephews, his Emmanuel Church family and friends.
Friends may call Friday, May 10 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM and Saturday, May 11 from 10:00 -11:00 AM at Emmanual Missionary Baptist Church, 1772 Clifford Avenue, Rochester, NY. The Funeral Service to Celebrate his life will immediately follow with Rev. Douglas Smith officiating. Interment Riverside Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
