ROCHESTER, NY – February 4, 2024
Mr. WIllie Monts was born January 18, 1943 in Bradenton, Florida to Tom Monts and Ruby (Sales) Monts.
He was educated in the Manatee County Public School System, graduating from Lincoln Memorial High School in 1962. After graduating he moved to Rochester, New York.
Willie resided in the city of Rochester and he absolutely loved his community. The property he lived in was a Rochester Housing Authority (RHA) development and he resided there for over 20 years.Throughout his stay, he received a number of awards presented by RHA for his community service efforts.
Willie worked several jobs, some of his most enjoyable were cooking in several bars and restaurants. He enjoyed sports and even coached some of these bar teams, including baseball and woman’s softball. He retired from Weyerhaeuser Company after 30 years.
He departed this life peacefully on Sunday February 4, 2024 at Wesley on East. Predeceased by; his parents,Tom Monts and Ruby (Sales) Monts; One daughter, Valencia Tarver Raymond; brothers, Tommy Miller, Tom Monts, Ezell Miller, Howard Miller, Jerry Miller; sisters, Mary Helen Prince, Elouise Monts, Lucretia Miller.
He leaves to cherish his memory; Three granddaughters, Ronique T. (Kenneth) Smith of Lithia, FL, Nanise Raymond, and Misha Raymond of Palmetto, FL.; One grandson, Mistral Raymond of Palmetto, FL.; Six Sisters, Fannie Joyce Williams, Mae Helen (Nate) Miller; Earlene Bozeman, Vivian Miller, all of Rochester, NY.; Brenda Webb, Corine Addison, and One brother Henry Hayes, all of Jacksonville, FL, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Memorial Service Friday, February 16, 2024, 11:00 AM at The Latimer Chapel, 983 South Plymouth Avenue, Rochester, NY. Interment at the convenience of the family.
