Obituary of Cynthia M. Mikel

ROCHESTER, NY – December 9, 2023 Cynthia Mikel, better known as (Byrd) was born February 9, 1962 in Rochester, NY. She is the daughter of the late Earnest Mikel and the late Marie (Martin) Mikel. Cynthia worked in Health services as a medical secretary and home health aide during her employment. Cynthia married Nathan Patterson on December 18th, 1999. They raised their daughter Chabli in a blissful union until her husband passed. Cynthia illuminated every room she entered with an infectious smile sharing laughter with loved ones and friends. Some will say she was the life of the party, and her home was the place to be whether it was for counsel, a good meal or just to uplift your spirits. In joyful remembrance and celebration of the life of our dearly departed Mother and sister, Cynthia Mikel, who answered the Lord's call December 9th, 2023. Cynthia was a radiant soul whose faith and love for God touched the lives of all who knew her. As we gather to remember Cynthia lets us reflect on the words of Ecclesiastes 3:1 "To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. Cynthia season on earth was one of love, kindness and devotion to her faith. May the memories of Cynthia's joyous spirit and faithful heart inspire our lives. As we bid farewell to our sister in Christ, we trust in the comforting embrace of God's grace. Predeceased by; her parents, Earnest and Marie (Martin) Mikel; her sisters, Denise Smith, Beverly Ann Ward, and brother, Eric Mikel. Survived by; her Daughter, Chabli (Faizah) Mikel-Johnx; Granddaughter, Niyumi Johnx; 2 sisters, Sonya (James) Hill and Gwendolyn (Will) Butts and 1 brother, David (Eugenia) Mikel and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
