If I could tell Mrs. Dobson one thing…. Thank you Mrs. Dobson for being a light upon so much darkness. I am Yvette Marie Evans, the biological daughter of Viola James Evans and Samual Evans. I wished my mother would have listened to you and stayed in contact with you. I remember meeting your daughters Jackie, Gina and Kim and your husband at a very young age. I remember the apartment complex you two owned. Just like I remember the stuffed bunny rabbit you gave me when I was in the hospital. I held onto that stuffed bunny that I named “Bunny” for years after we moved to California. You were and are a beacon of light….one that I could never forget. Rest in Peace and Love Mrs. Dorothy Dobson. I will never forget you…

There are not enough words to express how blessed we are to have known you. We have always admired your style, classy hats and above all your grace. Your beauty was exemplified inside and out. We loved you as a mother, so loving, whose love was unconditional, never wavering. You were the best mother to my dear friend Kim, who always shared photos of you during her visits with you in Rochester. We will miss your presence here at Our Lady of Lourdes in Atlanta, Georgia on your Summer visits. We are forever thankful to God for favoring us with such a wonderful blessing in our lives.

Mrs. Dobson has left an indelible impact on the world and I'm proud to say that I have been a beneficiary through my friendship with her daughter, Kimberley (Kim). Kim has been a huge blessing to me because of her wisdom, compassion, empathy, love, and leadership. She navigates the world with her heart and is motivated by core values that her parents instilled in her. Kim also blessed me by introducing me to her mom and weaving our lives together through many phone conversations. As I grew to know Mrs. Dobson, she allowed me to also call her Mommy which was my pleasure to claim her like a Dobson daughter!
I'll miss joining Kim's phone conversations with her mom and hearing her laughter on the other end of the line. I'm tremendously thankful for her determination and resiliency, and the example she has modeled for countless people, including myself. Mrs. Dobson, rest in peace. You've done exceedingly well.

To the Dobson family- be comforted that Mrs. Dobson's deeds of service and compassion have changed lives and made all the difference in the world for so many. As a child I knew of our mother's close kinship and fondness for Mrs. Dobson. I recall her beautiful smooth skin and white teeth, and her soft laughter. I also remember those beautiful earrings! She always seemed so regal and elegant to me!
I had no idea how truly blessed the Gallop sisters were to live, learn, and grow in the Rochester that Mrs. Dobson and her contemporaries nurtured: exciting, active, and safe- full of art, culture, history, friendship, and true community. What an unforgettable lady and a courageous- yet quiet leader.
I rejoice that surely the gates of Heaven have opened and she is walking in God's glowing embrace- healthy, free, and singing songs never before heard. I rejoice that my son graduated as an Aggie and benefitted directly from the Dobsons' commitment to educational excellence. I rejoice that Mrs. Dobson impacted my life- my very deepest condolences to the Dobson family-
