When growing up in NC, I always got excited when our mom told us Aunt Thelma & Uncle Georgwr were in town. My mom, Bessie, and Aunt Thelma looked so much alike. Aunt Thelma always smiled at me and asked if I was doing well. When we moved to Richmond Va, there wasn't a lot of communications with Aunt Thelma. But as time went on and in His good timing, we were reunited once again. In 2000, while attending my husband's family reunion, Aunt Thelma & Uncle George spent a whole day with us. We laughed, exchange pictures & reminisced about family. We stayed in close contact from that point on. She was always encouraging and always in my corner. She once told me during one of my down moments "don't sweat the small stuff because in the end, it's just stuff"! During our last conversation less than a month ago, she lamented over how much she missed talking to momma. To my dear Aunt, I know seeing our Redeemer, Christ Jesus is the best thing ever. Now you and momma can laugh, laugh, and laugh some more! I'll always cherish our conversations ... until we meet again.

You were the most compassionate, loving, and humble sister I know. You always looked out for others first. I know you're resting in God's bosom. I'm grateful for our conversations on the phone that I will truly miss, but I know you are in a better place.
Your brother,
Wendell Thomas

Sending my heartfelt condolences to George, because my sister in love/law will be greatly missed. It broke my heart for her to leave us, but we know God loved her more and he only takes the best. Until we meet again my Queen, sleep on and have your rest.

Aunt Thelma, my mom’s baby sister spent the majority of her life in New York and when ever she was home she found a way to see family members that she had not seen for a while. To see her was like looking at a mirror and seeing my mom Bessie especially the facial features and height. She had a beautiful smile and I always enjoyed talking with her. Although Aunt Thelma was far away she was always in our thoughts and prayers and when her sister (my mother Bessie) died she was devastated that she was not well enough to come home for the homecoming celebration. Aunt Thelma now you can be with your other siblings and know that you are/were loved no matter where. Your presence will be missed. Rest in Heavenly Peace my sweet Aunt Thelma!
