Obituary of Elizabeth Dash

Rochester, NY – September 25, 2022 Elizabeth Dash of Rochester, NY, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2022 under the amazing care of the medical professionals at the St. John's Rehab Center. She was blessed to have a dedicated caring team of physicians, Dr. Connors & Dr. Gross, in which they shared not only a doctor/patient relationship for many years, but one of mutual respect & admiration. She was born to Brisco & Madie Whitfield of Birmingham, Alabama. She attended some college courses at A & M College in Huntsville, Alabama. While married to Reverend Louis Dash, Sr., she served as the church musician & choir director. She continued a long career in many fields, such as teaching, banking, customer service and finally retail, and later retired from SYMS department store. She is predeceased by her husband the Reverend Louis Dash Sr., sons and daughters Jimmy Dash, Louis Dash Jr., Charles Dash, Leon Dash, Erma Valion and Ruth Williams, granddaughter Clover Louise Smith, parents Brisco & Madie Whitfield, and siblings Mary Warren and Margaret Mitchell. She is survived by her children, Patricia A. Smith (Elige), Kim M. Williams, Teryl L. Williams, Esther J. Neal, Kevin Dash & Louis Dash III, her younger siblings, Cynthia W. Jones & Kenneth Whitfield, grandchildren, Paolo (Brandi) Smith, Beau Smith, Jarah Lafayette Gibson, Jamika Williams, Kiana Elizabeth Dash, Katheryne Ann Neal, great grandchildren Paolo Smith, Jr., Clover Patricia Amera Smith, Lyric Naveah Gibson, Joshua Brown Jr., several nieces and nephews, many adopted grandchildren, her best friend Mrs. Louise Upshaw (Eugene), brothers & sisters in Christ and a host of many close friends. The Funeral Service to Celebrate her life will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Southside Church Of Christ, 1484 Calkins Road, Pittsford, NY. Interment White Haven Memorial Park. Masks required.
