Obituary of Geraldine Holmes

ROCHESTER, NY - April 2, 2022 Mrs. Geraldine Holmes was born July 15, 1935, in Elmira, NY. She is the daughter of the late Rev. John T. Holmes and the late Nellie (Ashford) Holmes. She attended Elmira Free Academy in Elmira, New York. She left Elmira and moved to Buffalo, New York where she was employed by Buffalo State Hospital as a Mental Health Therapist until she retired. While in Buffalo, she met and married Robert King. She gave birth to 2 sons and 1 daughter. They divorced and Geraldine resumed her life in Rochester, New York. While in Rochester, she joined a church of God in Christ, where her cousin was Pastor. She is predeceased by; her parents, Rev. John T. and Nellie (Ashford) Holmes; 1 son, Robert King Jr. She leaves to mourn her passing; 1 daughter, Anita Holmes; 1 son, Joseph King, 6 grandchildren; 1 sister, Betty Thomas; 1 brother John Holmes (Phyliss), nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family and friends. Friends may call Friday, April 15, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at The Latimer Chapel. Funeral Service to follow. Interment Private. Masks required.
