Obituary of Edna Louise Green

ROCHESTER, NY – January 24, 2022 Edna Louise Green was born in Colquitt, Georgia on September 4, 1933 to the late Freddie Wright and Frances Whitfield. She transitioned on January 24, 2022. Edna was proceeded in death by her daughter Janan Balkcom, and Sister Francine Whitfield. Edna has two grandchildren: Patrick (Joann) Balkcom and Traves Bryant; 8 great grandchildren, 2 nephews and several great nephews. Edna leaves cherished memories for her Goddaughter Theresa Green and family. Edna was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Faith Genesee Valley Congregation for over 25 years. Their Kingdom Hall is located on Plymouth Avenue in Rochester, New York. Edna attended regular meetings until she was no longer able due to poor health Edna enjoyed socializing and listening to her blues. With an infectious smile that people never forgot, she never met a stranger she didn't get to know. She always made people feel welcome in her presence. Edna worked as a companion and a Home Health aide until her retirement. She enjoyed cooking and taking care of others. The Family would like to give a special acknowledgement to Mr. Chester Author who stayed by Edna, supporting and caring for her over many years. Thank you to Tajanae Howard for all the time spent as a Home Health Aide for Edna, making her laugh and smile. Tajanae became like family. She and Edna's famous saying was, "Don't worry about it!" and they would both laugh. The family would also like to thank Community Care Of Rochester, iCircle-Care Management Team, Edna's Care Manager Debra Danko, and the Rochester Regional Health Hospice Team.
