Obituary of Rosa McFadden

ROCHESTER, NY - January 19, 2022 Rosa McFadden, age 84 was called home by her Lord and Savior on January 19, 2022. Rosa was an incredible servant of the Lord, a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Rosa was a graduate of Sodus Central School and post-graduation, spent her work career employed with Xerox Corporation in Webster, NY. As an active member in her home church, Rosa sang in the choir, served on many committees and dedicated her life to sharing the Gospel with everyone, and I do mean everyone with which she came in contact. A Powerhouse for the Lord, Rosa held a huge heart packed in her tiny frame. She knew her Bible, front and back. The joy she felt quoting her favorite passages was evident in the passion she displayed sharing them. Rosa was committed and dedicated to her family in ways that cannot be measured. She tirelessly gave of herself to her children, grandchildren and anyone that was in need, or she felt she could help. Through her actions, she taught everyone who met her what it meant to be compassionate, what it looked like to show God’s grace and forgiveness, but most of all, what it felt like to be loved. Her steadfast greeting, “I’m fine, thanks to the Good Lord” was heartfelt and uplifting, through thick and thin. Rosa was a woman of deep conviction who always held strong to her values and her purpose. On matters of importance, which were her family and her faith, Rosa was unwavering in her love and commitment to both. Something those with the privilege of witnessing will always remember. As her health began to fail, her common refrain “Oh Lordy!” reflected who she unfailingly trusted. Rosa was preceded in death by; her husband, Willie Lee McFadden Sr. and her son, William Lee McFadden Jr. She is survived by; her son, Duane and daughter-in-law, Kathy; her grandchildren, Cheyenne, Alexis and Malachi; great-grandchildren, Amilliana and Victor; her sister, Ludell and nephews, Willie and Aaron, and numerous cousins and friends. Rosa’s home going service will be held at the Upper Room Family Worship Center, 6445 Redman Rd, Williamson, NY 14589 on Saturday, January 29 at 2:00 pm where we will mourn our loss and celebrate Heaven’s gain.
