Mrs. Moorehead was born October 20, 1945 in Rockingham, NC. She is the daughter of the late Charles Brown Sr. and the late Estella (Gould) Brown. Erla accepted Christ at an early age. She joined Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Rochester, NY and later joined Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in 1978, under the leadership of Rev. J.D. Jackson. As a servant in the church, Erla served on the Deaconess Board. As a member of the Usher Board she enjoyed serving and was a dedicated worker during Vacation Bible School. She was employed by Kodak Rochester, NY as an X-Ray Film Technician. Predeceased by; her husband, Roy Moorehead; mother, Estella; father, Charles Sr.; and brother, Lorenzo. She is survived by; 1 son, Kenneth; granddaughter, Ashlynn; brother, Charles Brown Jr., 9 sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, church family, and friends. Friends may call Monday, September 27 from 10 AM-12 Noon at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, 351 Joseph Avenue. Funeral Service will immediately follow. Interment White Haven Memorial Park.
