Episcopal Bishop Samuel Isaac Rumph Sr., age 86, died Friday, March 22, 2013 in Rochester.
Mr. Rumph Sr. was born April 30, 1926 in Little Rock, AR the son of the late Mitchell and the late Clara (Tarvern) Rumph Sr.
Predeceased by his first wife, Elect Lady Priscilla M. Rumph; 4 children, Evang, Jacqueline M. Rumph, Samuel David Rumph, Pvt. Roderick M. Rumph and Mark A. Rumph, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Barbara A. Rumph; 3 sons, Michael J. Rumph, Darryl W. Rumph and Samuel I. Rumph, Jr., 8 daughters, Cherlyn E. Rumph, Debra D. (Eddie) Thomas, Joanna E. Richardson, Beverly J. (Mark) Renford, Priscilla L. Rumph, Cynthia R. Anderson, Sandra E. Jackson and Claretta A. Rumph; 44 grandchildren and 24 great0grandchildren; host of other relatives, Greater Bethlehem Church family and friends
Bishop Rumph will lie in state Friday 10-12PM, 2-4 PM with a Service 6PM-8PM at Greater Bethlehem Temple Pentecostal Church, 40 Favor Street. Homegoing Service Saturday 10AM at Aenon Baptist Church, 175 Genesee Street. Interment Oakwood Cemetery, Penfield
