Hallie "Cookie" Monroe, of Rochester died Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Mrs. Monroe was born April 17, 1943 at Chicago, IL the daughter of the late Rev. Allee George Elliott and the late Alice Mae (Gray) Elliott. She was employed by Macy's Rochester, NY as a Make-up Artist. She is predeceased by her husband, James R. Monroe and son, Rodney Monroe; parents Rev. Allee George Elliott and Alice Mae Elliott; brothers, Michael Elliott and Warren Elliott; sister, Rachel Marie Elliott. She is survived by 3 sons, James R. (Kimberley) Monroe, Jr., John F. (Eilleen) Monroe and Keefe B. Monroe; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandsons; 3 brothers, George Elliott; John Henry Elliott and James Elliott; 5 sisters, Patricia (Dwight) Stevens, Barbara Elliott, Kathi Elliott, June Sims and Lisa (Doug) Wormly; 2 sisters-in-law, Carolyn Elliott and Natalyn R. Elliott; 4 aunts, Dorothy Garrott, Joanne Williams, Ollie Mumford and Shirley Thompson; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 PM at Millard E. Latimer & Son Funeral Directors Inc., 983 S. Plymouth Ave., Rochester, NY. The funeral will be Wednesday at 12:00 PM at Aenon Baptist Church, 175 Genesee Street, Rochester with Rev. Dr. James L. Cherry, Sr., Officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
